We believe a YES VOTE to the OVERRIDE means a YES VOTE to the betterment of our students and a YES VOTE to increasing property values in our community.
A. The state of Arizona allows school districts to increase their budget by up to 15% of the allocated state funding. Voters must approve the renewal of the override, which runs for a period of seven years. WUSD is requesting a continuation of its existing 10% budget override.

It is anticipated the Wickenburg Unified School District Governing Board will call for an election to renew its existing budget override. If the Governing Board calls for the election, it will be on the general election ballot set for November 4th, 2026.

A. Revenue provided through the Override supports the entire education program of the district. The district is able to provide a sufficient number of teachers and aides to maintain quality programs, instruction and accountability.

A. Unless the override is renewed a phase out of 1/3 of the approved funds occurs in year six and again in year seven. If the override is not renewed cuts will be required. Generally, school district personnel costs are more than 80% of maintenance and operations budgets.

A. No. The major sources of school funding are per-pupil state aid, local property taxes and federal funds. Other sources such as tax credits are available and helpful, but cannot be used to support the regular education program.
A. All voters in the Wickenburg Unified School District will see the question on their ballot. This includes residents of Wickenburg, Festival Foothills, and Wickenburg Ranch.
A. All budget override will be on the November 4th, 2026 general election ballot.
A. Voters on the Permanent Early Ballot List will receive a ballot after October 7th, 2026. All voters will have the opportunity to vote early or vote at a designated voting center. More information will be available closer to the election.
